Water Tolls
The current rates are detailed in the Water Tolls Bylaw.
Water Tolls for annual water usage are unmetered and charged to all properties that are connected to the District's water system. Tolls invoices are generally sent out to customers in April/May of each year and are subject to a 10% discount if paid by the due date.
Parcel Tax
The current taxes are detailed in the Taxation Bylaw.
A Parcel Tax is levied against all properties (Parcels of land) within the District's boundaries each year, regardless of whether the property is connected to the water service. Taxes are always due and payable by 31 October of each year. A 10% penalty is charged to all unpaid taxes after the due date. From March 1st of the following year any unpaid taxes are charged at a an interest rate set by the province of BC. Taxes that remain unpaid for more than 2 years are subject to Tax Sale as set out in the BC Local Government Act.

- By cheque to Sointula Waterworks, PO Box 1, Sointula, BC, V0N 3E0
- In person by cheque, Interact, Credit Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay at the SWD office at the Old Medical Clinic, 270 1st St, Sointula, Tuesdays 10am to 2pm. Note: The SWD Office is unable to accept cash payments.
- Direct Deposit through the Coastal Community Credit Union website - this option is only available to customers with a CCCU account.
- Interact eTransfer to sointula_water@yahoo.ca Note you must include your account number in the message with your transfer. If you do not include your account number, your payment may not be credited to the correct account. E-transfers are auto-deposited into the SWD account.
- International wire transfer. Please contact the SWD office for details of arranging an international wire transfer. Note: Due to the fees charged by the CCCU, a wire transfer surcharge of CAN$25 will be applied to your account for this option.
